On Saturday the 13th of May, the cast and production team were treated to a day of living and breathing comedy through The Vizard Foundation‘s “The Comedy Writers’ and Performance Workshop”. MC’d by Tony Rickard, Melbourne Law Revue and Monash Law Revue got together to participate in various workshops throughout the day.
Unfortunately Steve Vizard couldn’t make it duty to injury so the opening words were made by our fabulous MC himself. The second workshop was delivered by Stephen Hall on his time as Basil in the stage version of Fawlty Towers (Fawlty Towers Live).
Next up was Nikki Osborne who discussed what it meant to an a female comedian. After lunch was Francis Greenslade with great insight into developing characters on stage to represent the status quo in everyday life.
Shaun Micallef then took us down memory lane and gave us great insight in how to write comedy. Finally The Big Hoo Haa took up for an improv session to end the day which provided great entertainment of the talent both Revues have.
A huge thanks to all the speakers and people who made the workshops happen, especially the Vizard Foundation! With all that comedy wisdom, the 2017 Revue will be better than ever!
